The award acknowledges organisations that have transformed their businesses through the innovative use of IT.
Developed by SGX, SGX QUEST is the first integrated securities and derivatives trading engine among the major exchanges. SGX QUEST serves to provide customers with fast and seamless access to trading and hedging opportunities across the two markets. Its robustness and reliability allow SGX to increase transactions to more than one million per day and up to 10 times faster in the derivatives market.
Mr Chew Hong Gian, Executive Vice President and Head of Technology, SGX, said, "We are honoured to receive this award from BusinessWeek. SGX QUEST reflects our determination to continually innovate through technology, so that we can provide seamless and superior service to our customers. We would like to thank our SGX team, partners and customers for helping to make this project a success."
SGX emerged winner out of the six finalists who were selected from a total of 31 entries from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. The award was presented at an awards ceremony dinner held on 4 November, as part of the Asia Pacific IDC CIO Summit in Bangkok.
