SGX Announces New Structure

Date 17/11/2006

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) today announced that it is making changes to its organisation structure to reflect its focus on certain new businesses and to improve overall organisational effectiveness. Arising from this, several members of the Executive Committee (EXCO) will take on new roles.

Key changes include the extension of Markets and a re-grouping of certain areas:
    1. Markets - Mr. Gan Seow Ann, Senior Executive Vice-President, will retain his current Markets portfolio to which will be added the management of existing products and access by participants to our markets.

    2. Development - The creation of new products will fall under a new Development group, which will also be responsible for business development. With product responsibility being split between Markets and Development, the current Products & Services Group will be dissolved. Mr. Seck Wai Kwong, Senior Executive Vice-President, will relinquish his role as Head Strategy & Business Development to act as interim Head Development.
    3. Post-Trade Services & Retail Business - Mr. Seck will also spearhead Post-Trade and Retail initiatives. SGX is developing ways to leverage on its processing capabilities to create a post-trade processing hub. Under Retail Business, Mr. Seck will continue to drive efforts to boost retail participation in our markets.

    4. Operations & Technology - These 2 areas will be grouped together to create greater synergies with the goal of improving productivity and service delivery. Mr. Daniel Tan and Mr. Chew Hong Gian will continue in their respective roles as Head Operations and Head Technology. SGX is currently looking for a Head of the combined group.

With effect from 1 December 2006, Mr. Linus Koh relinquishes his role as Head Products & Services to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with the added responsibility for Strategy. Mr. Robert van Zwieten, the current CFO, will take on the role of Head Special Projects, as part of the Office of the CEO. Please refer to the SGXNet announcement made today entitled "Announcement of Appointment of Chief Financial Officer".

The composition of EXCO will remain unchanged.
