SETTRADE.COM Co., Ltd.'s Vice President--Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Kirati Kosicharoen, revealed "SETTRADE has developed the trading by cellular phone service 'DaytradeWE' (Daytrade Wireless Edition) to provide convenience for investors who cannot be present at the trading room or in front of a computer screen all day. The service will also increase trading channels and, therefore, supports the Stock Exchange of Thailand's policy of increasing investor base."
The DaytradeWE program allows investors to purchase shares, sell shares, look up the price of shares, check the status of their transactions, and monitor their investment portfolios all by themselves through their cellular phones. This is the first time in Southeast Asia for such a complete program. At present 10 leading securities firms have introduced the program to their clients. The program is compatible with various cellular phone models within the AIS, DTAC, and Orange networks. It utilizes the WAP and GPRS technology. All investors have to do is install DaytradeWE, which is a freeware, onto their cellular phones and access the program using the same password for their access to SETTRADE's internet-based trading. They can then choose the securities firm they want to handle their transactions on DaytradeWE.
In developing DaytradeWE, SETTRADE received invaluable cooperation from Sony Ericsson in terms of technology and testing of the program and from Samart E-Trading, which lend its expertise for the distribution of the program through its download content points.

SETTRADE has plans to expand the number of models where DaytradeWE can be used with help and support from Sony Ericsson.

Internet-based trading clients of these brokerages have immediate access to DaytradeWE without any costs. SETTRADE plans to increase the number of brokerage firms that supports the DaytradeWE service in order to reach the most investors. Investors whose brokerage firm does not support DaytradeWE can simply notify SETTRADE of their interest in the service so SETTRADE can contact the brokerage," Mr. Kirati concluded.
