The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will extend trading hours for depositary receipts (DRs) linked to securities listed on the exchanges in the Americas and Europe. This extension will cover both the day session (10.00-16.30 hrs.) and the night session (19.00-03.00 hrs. of the following day), effective May 6, 2025. DRs based on Asian securities will continue to trade only during Thailand’s standard day session.
All 20 existing fractional depositary receipts (DRx) which are linked to U.S.-listed securities will be automatically integrated with their corresponding DRs on May 6, 2025. These will be available for trading under the new DR trading hours from 10.00 hrs. on the same day onwards. Following this service enhancement, investors will be able to access DR price information and submit their orders through all trading platforms operated by securities companies using their current securities trading accounts.
DR and DRx instruments have gained significant traction in the Thai market. As of April 23, 2025, DR and DRx offerings spanned 89 products referencing leading securities from the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with a total of five DR issuers. The combined market capitalization stood at approximately THB 31 billion (USD 925.73 million), with an average daily trading value of THB 580 million, growing by more than 140 percent from the previous year.
This trading hour extension will provide Thai investors with enhanced access to foreign securities via SET for portfolio diversification and greater investment options that match their needs while enabling a scalable framework for future product development.
