The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s annual flagship investment exhibition in Bangkok during March 23-26 attracted near 120,000 visitors generating almost 16,000 financial transactions during the event.
SET Senior Executive Vice President, Rinjai Chakornpipat, said, “This year SET in the City becomes a great success in achieving its goal to promote savings and long-term investment plan. The four-day event attracted near 120,000 participants, more than half of them was new investors and first jobbers with no previous experience in equity or derivatives trading. Popular activities were financial planning activities/workshops, special investment-related seminars, demonstrations of digital investment tools, and investment simulation program”.
Out of the 15,907 transactions, stock brokers acquired 6,134 new equity trading accounts, 1,084 derivatives trading accounts, and 3,676 mutual fund accounts with THB 518 million’s fund subscriptions. Other investment instruments were also well-received. The key success was because of the synergy of all the capital market partners in contributing useful information and activities that benefited investors in order to expand investor base for the Thai capital market.
