SET Provides New Direct Communication Channels For Listed Companies

Date 15/08/2005

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) develops a webboard and a directory service on its SET Community Portal (SCP) to be additional communication channels for listed companies.

Executive Vice President of the SET Mr. Suthichai Chitvanich said that the SET has developed ways to better communicate with the listed companies’ contact persons. Presently, communications are carried out via the SET Community Portal (SCP). The latest channels to be added to the SCP are the webboard and directory services, which will enable more efficient two-way communication between the SET and listed firms.

Directory service is an area on the SCP for the SET and listed companies to upload files, information, or documents, enabling both the SET and listed companies to easily share information amongst all SCP users. This channel will provide the SET with another option for releasing important information on such matters as clarifications on rules and regulations, practical guidelines, and seminar materials. Better, easier access to these important materials will enable firms to better understand all that is going on in the capital market.

The webboard will serve as an online meeting place where listed firms and SET can express their ideas and share discussions on interesting issues.

These two new services are aimed at promoting better two-way communications between the SET and listed companies, as well as among the listed companies themselves. Greater understanding, improved efficiency, and better relations will result from using these two new communication channels.

The SCP is one of the SET’s activities to promote the role of listed companies’ contact persons. Another activity is the ‘Training and Networking for Contact Persons’ program which will continue until November this year.
