SET Announces Temporary Measures On Ceiling & Floor Limits And Dynamic Price Band To Address Volatility

Date 22/06/2025

Due to the unrest in the Middle East region, concerns have arisen regarding regional stability and global economic trends. Such uncertainty may affect investors’ decision-making because of the lack of clear information about the current situation, and it may potentially impact the securities trading on Monday, June 23, 2025. In response to that, the Board of Governors (BoG) of The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), at its meeting on Sunday, June 22, 2025, has approved the following temporary measures:

1.  Revised ceiling and floor limits across SET, mai, and TFEX*:

Note: *TFEX has exercised its authority under the TFEX regulations to adjust the Daily Price Limit of SET50 Index Futures, SET50 Index Options, Single Stock Futures, and Sector Futures contract specifications to align with the SET, as the underlying market of TFEX.

2.  Security-specific dynamic price band adjustment: Reduce the threshold from ±10% of the last executed price to ±5% of the last executed price

The aforementioned Ceiling & Floor and Dynamic Price Band regulations will not apply to the trading of securities with underlying assets being securities listed on foreign stock exchanges or foreign securities indices, such as Depositary Receipts (DRs), Derivative Warrants (DWs), and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).

The above temporary measures will take effect on June 23, 2025, and will remain in effect no longer than June 27, 2025. SET will closely monitor the market continuously and is ready to restore the original regulations earlier than June 27, 2025, should it be determined that these temporary measures are no longer required. SET is confident that these prudential measures will effectively stabilize market conditions and reinforce investor confidence.
