The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has announced an appointment of SET executives to help boosting strength and competitiveness and drive the Thai capital market towards sustainable growth.
Thirapun Sanpakit is promoted to Senior Executive Vice President - Head of Information Technology Division. Pataravasee Suvarnsorn is promoted to Senior Executive Vice President-Head of Market Operations Division. The appointments are effective from July 1, 2018.
Manpong Senanarong is appointed as Senior Executive Vice President-Head of Issuer Marketing Division. Aphisak Kiewkarnkha is appointed as Senior Executive Vice President-Head of Finance & Investment Division. The appointments are effective from September 1, 2018.
SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that in accordance with the succession plan, SET’s board of governors has recently approved an appointment of two existing executives who are equipped with strong experiences and expertise in the capital market business as well as a proven track record of achievements. In addition, the Board has also appointed two new executives who are well-versed in financial and investment industries to further enhance and strengthen SET business. These executives will be instrumental in driving SET towards sustainable growth and an internationally competitive capital market while enhancing the Thai capital market for the benefit of all stakeholders in line with SET’s vision “To Make the Capital Market ‘Work’ for Everyone”.
Thirapun Sanpakit, SEVP-Head of Information Technology Division will oversee information technology development and operations. He has 25 years of experience and strong expertise in information technology management. Under the SET’s scholarship program, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the United States.
Pataravasee Suvarnsorn, SEVP-Head of Market Operations Division will head market operation. She has 26 years of experience and expertise in post trade services from securities clearing and settlement, depository to registrar. She is also a Managing Director of Thailand Clearing House Co., Ltd.
Manpong Senanarong, SEVP-Head of Issuer Marketing Division, will oversee Issuer Marketing Group 1, Issuer Marketing Group 2 and Market for Alternative Investment (mai). With his insight into the capital market’s rules and regulations, he will play an important role in attracting new listings, developing listed companies, and updating current regulations to facilitate businesses' access to the Thai capital market.
Manpong earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance & Quantitative from Cleveland State University, the United States, after receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Chulalongkorn University. Prior to joining SET, he served as a Managing Director for Kasikorn Securities pcl.
Aphisak Kiewkarnkha, SEVP-Head Finance & Investment Division, will lead financial, investment, and risk management strategies for SET. He previously worked at The Siam Commercial Bank pcl as Executive Vice President, Head of Group Treasury, and also Director at Cambodian Commercial Bank Ltd. His extensive experience and expertise in finance and investment will strengthen and boost competitiveness for SET.
Aphisak earned a Master of Business Administration from Chaminade University, the United States, after graduating from Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology in Sociology, Thammasat University.
