The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the 36 winning entries of its 50th anniversary poetry contest, selecting exceptional works from a remarkable pool of over 700 submissions that celebrate SET’s five-decade contribution to Thailand’s economic development and financial literacy. This initiative fosters inspirational and creative expressions, preserves Thai literary arts, and promotes mental well-being through poetry.
SET Chairman Adjunct Professor Kitipong Urapeepatanapong underscored SET’s dedication to Thailand’s advancement: “Beyond functioning as a capital engine for entrepreneurs and an investment hub for savers, we are committed to fostering social progress alongside economic growth. This commitment embodies our vision “To Make the Capital Market ‘Work’ for Everyone.” Our 50th anniversary poetry contest aimed to reflect SET’s journey in Thai society and the power of financial literacy through verse,” said SET Chairman. The contest received an impressive response with 730 submissions. A selection of 36 winning poems will be published alongside literary works from 14 distinguished poets in the commemorative anthology “50 Poems for 50 Years of the Stock Exchange of Thailand.”
Judging Panel Chair, Former SET Chairman and Narathip Award Winner Dr. Chaiyawat Wibulswasdi explained that the poetry contest features two themes: “Expanding Wealth, Enriching Life” and “Stock Exchange: Life’s Treasure.” All entries creatively capture financial planning strategies for sustainable wealth, financial security, and better quality of life as well as SET’s roles in fostering inclusive growth for everyone’s future. The distinguished judges include national artists in literature, the former president of the P.E.N. International Thailand Center, and former senior executive vice presidents of SET who jointly evaluated the submissions based on their eloquence, literary merit, and thematic relevance.
Judging Panel Member and 2014 National Artist in Literature Chamaiporn Bangkombang noted that this poetry contest uniquely challenges poets to weave practical financial concepts with personal emotions, delivering themed messages through aesthetic expressions. “Every winning poem masterfully bridges Thai literary arts with financial education, making complex ideas accessible through artful expressions. These works demonstrate how poetry can advance financial literacy while enriching lives and society. SET deserves praise for championing poetry in this meaningful initiative.”
