Managing Director of the Capital Promotion Center and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), Ms. Sopawadee Lertmansachai, has announced a new program for the listing of SOEs on the Exchange. Besides listing advice, distributing shares and collaborating with related agencies, the SET and the Office for State Enterprises and Government Securities of the Ministry of Finance will hold a workshop with the major theme of "Strategies on the Road to Privatization". This is designed specifically to educate all related parties in the SOE privatization process about what needs to be done to prepare for privatization, as well as providing an opportunity to exchange views and ideas among the various SOEs themselves. The workshops participants will therefore be brought up to dated about the direction and procedures of privatization and have their concerns assuaged.
The first workshop held will be on "Business Plans and Assessment, Accounting Systems and the Making of the Financial Statements". The following series will be concerned with:
- Financial Structures and Share Distribution Plans
- Legal Issues surrounding Privatization
- Public Relations and Investor Relations
The IPO and Listing on the Exchange
The workshops are aimed at equipping all SOEs with an overview in preparation for their individual privatization programs, held in close collaboration between the SET and the Ministry of Finance. Similar support programs will be undertaken in the future.
