As an important measure to comprehensively serve the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and boost the high-quality development of Guangdong, the Guangdong Session of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) Capital Market Service Week (hereinafter referred to as "Guangdong Service Week") was officially launched recently. During the service week, Wang Weizhong, Deputy Party Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, met with Qiu Yong, Party Secretary and Chairman of the SSE, and his delegation in Guangzhou.
During his visit to Guangdong, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that Guangdong is the pioneer and experimental area of reform and opening up. With the primary task of achieving high-quality development and the strategic task of building a new development pattern, the province should continue to stand among the top in comprehensively deepening reform, expanding high-standard opening up, enhancing the ability of sci-tech self-reliance and self-strengthening, building a modern industrial system, and promoting coordinated regional development between urban and rural areas. To implement the General Secretary's instructions, centering on the strategy of "one core area, one economic belt, and one development zone", for the purpose of strengthening support for area with insufficient capital market services in the province, the SSE's "Guangdong Service Week" will feature 24 themed activities and quality services, with over 1,500 expected participants. This is also the thirteenth service activity launched by the SSE this year throughout the country.
The "Guangdong Service Week" will present five characteristics. First, it will provide tailored training for enterprises of different stages and types around sci-tech innovation. Second, it will focus on balanced development. Led by the provincial financial bureau, the SSE will make a "Northern Guangdong Tour" in Shaoguan with Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Beijing Stock Exchange to promote the early connection of local enterprises to the capital market. Third, it will guide value investment to serve small and medium-sized investors. Fourth, it will strengthen communication to serve sci-tech officials. Fifth, it will conduct extensive research to serve market entities.
Going forward, under the unified leadership and deployment of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the SSE will focus on the core task of "comprehensive registration system" and start from serving the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and the "one core area, one economic belt, and one development zone". It will fully leverage the comprehensive advantages of the SSE market, adhere to the four "equal emphasis", firmly promote the high-standard circulation of "science and technology, capital and industry", and comprehensively improve the level and ability of the SSE to serve the high-quality development of Guangdong.
