The Executive Vice President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), Ms. Patareeya Benjapolchai, announced that the SET has selected a number of new securities to be included in the calculation of the SET50 Index for the first half of 2004 (1 January - 30 June 2004). The selection of these securities is based on market capitalization and liquidity criteria. Trading statistics for the period 1 December 2002 - 30 November 2003 were used for the calculation. For securities to be eligible for inclusion, they must neither be suspended for a long period or face possible delisting.
"The new securities list for the SET50 calculation will have only two new securities added to the previous list used for the second half of 2003. They are the securities of Vanachai Group Public Co., Ltd. (VNG) in the Building & Furnishing Materials sector, Property & Construction Group, and the securities of TT&T Public Co., Ltd. (TT&T) in the Communication sector, Technology Group," Ms. Patareeya said.
