Securities Industry Association: House CFIUS Bill Praised By Wall Street Trade Group

The Securities Industry Association (SIA) today commended the House version of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

"Legislation should strike the right balance -- it must strengthen national security without provoking punitive or retaliatory measures from other nations that could endanger American commerce. This bill provides timely review of transactions that do not pose a threat, yet delivers the flexibility for more in-depth investigations of transactions which deserve greater scrutiny," said Marc Lackritz, president of SIA. "The bi-partisan, cooperative approached used in crafting this bill could serve as a model for how to get things done in Washington."
