SEC'S Advisory Committee On Smaller Public Companies Solicits Comments On Draft Final Report

The Securities and Exchange Commission's Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies has published for public comment an exposure draft of its final report and proposed recommendations to the Commission. The Committee will consider the comments received before finalizing the recommendations in the report, which is due to be submitted to the Commission by April 23, 2006.

The exposure draft and an accompanying release were published in the Federal Register and are also available on the SEC's Web site at http://www.sec.gov/rules/other/33-8666.pdf. Interested parties may submit comments to the Advisory Committee either through the SEC's Web site or by sending them in the manner outlined in the release. The comment period ends April 3, 2006.

The Advisory Committee was established by the SEC to examine the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other federal securities laws on smaller companies. The Committee has been meeting, and has held hearings in various parts of the country, since April 2005.
