BNP Paribas Asset Management ('BNPP AM') today announced the second closing of its BNP Paribas Agility Co-Invest Fund 2 ('Agility 2'), reaching nearly €700 million.
This new closing was made possible thanks to the trust of French and international investors, both institutional and private, and to the close collaboration between BNP Paribas Asset Management and BNP Paribas Wealth Management.
The Agility 2 fund, launched in 2024, invests in European small and midcap companies active in a wide range of sectors. The investments take the form of co-investments, from €10 million to €50 million, in LBO transactions alongside leading European private equity funds. The fund aims to build a diversified portfolio of 50 investments in fine and has already invested in 15 companies.
With this second closing, the fund is already approaching €700 million, with a target size of up to €900 million, reflecting the growing interest of institutional and private investors in diversified co-investment solutions in Europe. The success of this fundraising is the result of a campaign conducted among BNP Paribas Wealth Management's clients in Europe and Asia, for whom private assets are playing an increasing role in portfolio allocation. The fund also benefits from a strong alignment of interest with the BNP Paribas Group through a €300m subscription.
"We are delighted with this excellent result, which demonstrates, in a context where investors are particularly selective and demanding, the interest and relevance of our proposal," said Lionel Gomez and Damien Fournier, co-heads of BNPP AM's Private Equity team. The fund continues to be actively deployed: we have already invested nearly €200 million in 15 companies, and we are currently working on closing 5 additional investments. "
"Agility 2's strategy demonstrates that private markets offer growth and diversification opportunities for our clients' portfolios. We are convinced that Private Equity plays a key role in our clients' asset allocation, allowing them to access high-growth unlisted companies and benefit from higher potential returns over the long term than the public markets," adds Claire Roborel de Climens, Head of Unlisted and Alternative Investments, BNP Paribas Wealth Management.
Agility 2 is a Specialized Professional Fund (FPS) approved by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), managed by the Private Assets division of BNPP AM - which has nearly €41 billion in assets under management and under advisory as of December 31, 2024.
