Saudi Exchange and the Securities Clearing Center Company (Muqassa) have announced the commencement of a series of structural enhancements to the Saudi derivatives market, marking the next phase in its development. The enhancements are designed to support liquidity, improve market efficiency, and encourage broader participation in derivatives trading.
The enhancements went into effect on 19 August, 2026, applicable to MT30 Index Futures and Single Stock Futures (SSFs), and introduce a number of measures aimed at strengthening market depth, attracting participation, and improving overall market functionality.
These coordinated enhancements across Saudi Exchange and Muqassa represent a significant milestone in the evolution of the Saudi derivatives market, strengthening its commercial appeal, increasing investor confidence, and laying the foundation for sustainable long-term growth.
As part of this phase, Saudi Exchange has signed agreements with SNB Capital on behalf of multiple Derivatives market makers to support liquidity provision in futures contracts. Participating firms include Corvus, Binevenagh, BLS Futures Ltd, Eighteen Eight Solutions, and MET Traders. Market making activity commenced in August 2026, supporting the initial phase of liquidity provision in the derivatives market.
Saudi Exchange and Muqassa expects these enhancements to support increased participation in MT30 Index Futures and Single Stock Futures, with further developments planned as part of the next phase of the derivatives market roadmap, including expansion into options products.
