Saudi Arabian Equity Market Report November 2005: Index Year To Date Records 98.76% Growth - Over SR 422.68 Billion Traded in November

The index for November 2005 closed at 16311.11 points compared with 15616.65 for October 2005 with an increase of 4.45%. It reached its highest historical point as it hit 16430.56 by 28/11/2005 setting its new benchmark. Year to-date, the index increased by 98.76%.

Market capitalization by the end of November 2005 closed up at SR 2.37 trillion (US$ 631.6 billion) increasing by 5% compared with market capitalization for October 2005.

The total value of shares traded in November 2005 reached SR 422.68 billion (US$ 112.71 billion) compared with SR 425.47 billion from last October of 2005 decreasing by 1 %.

Total number of shares traded in November, 2005 was 1.1 billion shares compared with 1.2 billion shares traded in October 2005, decreasing by 7%.

Total transactions in November, 2005 has reached 5.05 million transactions compared with 5.2 million transactions for October 2005, decreasing by 2%.

Number of trading days during this month were 20 days compared with 27 days for the previous month . That was due to Eid holiday
