The capitalization of the market reached SR 1156.41 billion ( US$ 308.4 billion ) an increase of 1% compared to Dec 2004 when it stood at SR 1148.6 billion ( US$ 306.3 billion ).
The total Value of shares traded during Jan 2005 reached SR 70.3 billion ( US$ 18.7 billion )compared with SR 153.4 billion ( US$ 40.9 billion ) for Dec 2004 a decrease of 54% .The total shares traded during Jan 2005 reached 256.4 million compared with 539 million in Dec 2004 a decrease of 52% . The total number of transactions reached 860.6 thousand compared to 1.3 million in Dec 2004 a decrease of 35%.
The NCCI was added to the market under new sector called (Insurance sector) with (10) million shares at (SR 50) a share with a capital of (SR 500) million. Trading started on Jan 17 2005.
