- An abysmal last day brought both the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average into negative territory for the month. Despite both indices hitting all-time highs during the month, the S&P 500 and the DJIA ended down 1%.
- The S&P MidCap 400 and the S&P SmallCap 600 both declined significantly this month, down 4% and 5% respectively.
- Telecom and Technology led among the 10 sectors of the S&P 500 this month, gaining 4% and 1%, respectively. Utilities was the laggard of the group, declining 7% on the month.
