Highlights include:

• U.S. stocks  continued the positive trend seen in recent months (up every month in 2014 with the exception of January). Following gyrations in equity markets at the beginning of the month, the DJIA and S&P 500 ended up 1% and 2%, respectively. The S&P 500 closed the month at an all time high (1924). The S&P 500 is up 5% year to date, while the DJIA is up only 2%.
  
  
• Technology led among the 10 sectors of the S&P 500, gaining 4%. Despite a loss of 1% this month, Utilities is still the best performing sector year to date with a 14% gain.
