Sample Stocks Adjustment To Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index, ChiNext Index And SZSE 100 Index

On May 30, SZSE and its wholly-owned subsidiary Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. announced a regular adjustment made, in line with the index compiling rules, to the sample stocks of SZSE series indexes including SZSE Component Index, ChiNext Index and SZSE 100 Index (collectively referred to as “1+2” core indexes). The adjustment will be effective since 13 June 2022.

 

Based on survey of the market representativeness, liquidity and operating status of companies listed on SZSE, SZSE Component Index will have 25 sample stocks adjusted, ChiNext Index will have 10 sample stocks shuffled, and SZSE 100 will have four sample stocks changed. After the adjustments, the “1+2” core indexes will have greater market representativeness. According to statistics, the market capitalization coverage rates of SZSE Component Index, ChiNext Index and SZSE 100 Index will reach 68%, 54% and 41%, respectively, and return on equity in the annual reports of 2021 will post at 11%, 13% and 13% respectively, indicating sound asset quality and profitability which echoes to the innovative vitality and growth attributes of the market.

More and more emerging industries are covered by the “1+2” core indexes, which play an active role in supporting scientific and technological innovation, leading high-quality development with innovation, and serving the strategic goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. After the adjustments, the weight of sample stocks of strategic emerging industries in SZSE Component Index and SZSE 100 Index will be 65% and 68% respectively, and the corresponding proportion of ChiNext Index will be as high as 83%. The green and low-carbon industries show a strong development momentum. The total weight of sample stocks of new energy, new energy vehicle, energy conservation and environmental protection and other industries in SZSE Component Index, ChiNext Index and SZSE 100 Index will increase to 23%, 30% and 29%, respectively. The newly listed companies have strong growth momentum and become the “new forces” of the indexes. This time, SZSE Component Index swaps in five newly ChiNext-listed companies and three newly listed companies on the Main Board, and there will be 25 companies listed in recent two years after the adjustments. The ChiNext Index adds three newly listed companies, and there will be 13 newly listed companies after the adjustments.
