FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

Rule change Euronext 100 Index And Next 150 Index

Date 03/08/2001

Euronext announces the following rule changes of the Euronext 100 Index and the Next 150 Index.

Introduction of a reserve list

In order to provide more transparency to the market, a reserve list for the Euronext 100 Index and Next 150 Index is introduced. At the time of each quarterly review a reserve list of 15 stocks will be published. This list presents the 15 possible candidates should a constituent in the index have to be replaced. This list, provides the market with more certainty beforehand concerning the replacing companies. The replacement procedure will then be as follows:

For any replacement in the Next 150 Index, the compiler will pick from the reserve list the biggest stock (in terms of market capitalisation) at the time of the replacement, in order to replace the stock that was removed. For any replacement in the Euronext 100 Index, the index manager will pick from the combined Next 150 constituents and the reserve list, the biggest stock (in terms of market capitalisation) at the time of the replacement, in order to replace the stock that was removed.

Taking into account the quarterly notification period, the changes will come into effect on November 1st 2001.
