RTS Trading Statistics July 2011 - RTS Volumes: Lightly Positive Mood Rules The Market

The Russian market was supported by growth in the American market, and a rise in the oil price.

The leading RTS Index gained 3.06% during July, reaching 1,965.02 points. In July 2011, RTS volumeswere up 10.65% over the previous month. Total RTS Exchange and OTC market activity increased to avalue of USD49.86 billion during July 2011.

However, Futures and Options on RTS (FORTS) experienced a slight drop during July with tradingactivity down 14.77%, totaling 70.0 million contracts compared with June 2011.
