RTS Total Turnover More Than Doubles Over The Year

In 2003 the RTS Group total turnover increased 2.2 times, from 9.5 billion to 20.8 billion US dollars.

The RTS Order-driven market was the most dynamic, having grown 4.8 times to 7.1 billion US dollars. This segment's share in overall turnover of the Group jumped from 15% to 34%. The RTS Classic market also showed signs of substantial growth; the RTS Classic market turnover increased by 34%, its share in the overall turnover amounted to 29%.

FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) market total trading volume reached 7 billion dollars, 2.3 times more than in year 2002. The input of FORTS into the Group's overall turnover remained the same as in 2002 - 34%.

In October 2003 the RTS Stock Exchange launched its FOREX market, RTS Money. From October 1st through December 31st, the turnover equaled 407 million US dollars, or 2% of the total volume. As of December 31st, 2003, 20 banks traded on the market.

In 2003 the RTS Board volumes remained stable and amounted to 68 million US dollars, or 0,33% of the total turnover. RTS Bonds, the bond-trading market, contributed 67 million US dollars, or 0.32%.
