The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 shed 4,79% to reach 733,61 points (770,48 points as of October 24th, 2008). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian Stock Market closed in the green. The major positive contributor was the oil & gas sector, the corresponding index soared by 52,93%. Significant growth was registered in the metals & mining sector, with the corresponding index gaining 36,18%. The main loser was the consumer & retail sector. The RTSI – Consumer & Retail slumped 9,38%.
