Over the week of March 30 – April 3, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 3.45% to reach 746.03 points (721.16 points as of March 27, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (plus 6.73 points), Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 4.92 points) and Surgutneftegas ordinary shares (SNGS) (plus 3.52 points).
The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 went up by 5.89% to reach 539.40 points (509.41 points as of March 27, 2009). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest growth was demonstrated by the industrial sector, with the corresponding index increasing by 13.62%. Significant increase was registered in the consumer & retail sector, with the corresponding index gaining 10.10%. The slightest growth was shown by the financials sector. The RTSI – Financials went up by 0.03%.

The total trading volume on RTS for the week March 30 – April 3, 2009 equaled 2.8 billion dollars (96.4 billion roubles*), including all types of trades.
The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of $9.369 million, followed by ordinary shares of Tatneft (TATN) with a turnover of $6.860 million and ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKN) with a turnover of $3.953 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 17.48%, 12.80% and 7.37% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of OJSC Concern "KALINA" (KLNA) that rose in price by 29.83% to $6.75 followed by ordinary shares of Synergy, Co. (SYNG) – by 27.12% to $7.5 and ordinary shares of OАО "TZA" (TUZA) – by 25.0% to $2.5.
The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali (URKA) that fell in price by 18.15% to reach $2.39 followed by ordinary shares of Tatneft (TATN) that lost 13.58% to close at $2.29 and ordinary shares of JSC Gazprom Neft (SIBN) that went down by 11.35% to $2.5.
