Over the week of July 27 – July 31, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 0.48% to reach 1,017.47 points (1,012.62 points as of July 24, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the rising prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (plus 4.01 points), ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali (URKA) (plus 2.76 points) and ordinary shares of Tatneft (TATN) (plus 2.58 points).
The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase closing at 893.06 points (3.17% up against 865.65 points as of July 24, 2009). Last week almost all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest growth was demonstrated by the financial sector, with the RTS Index – Financials going up by 4.01%. A significant increase was registered in the consumer & retail and industrial sectors with the corresponding indices gaining 3.52% and 3.17% respectively. A slight decline was reported by the oil & gas and power sectors, with the RTS Index – Oil & Gas losing 0.80% and the RTS Index – Electric Utilities decreasing by 0.53%.

For the last week the US dollar gained 2.19% against the RF rouble to reach 31.76 roubles per US dollar (31.08 as of July 34, 2009).
The total trading volume on RTS for the week July 27 – July 31, 2009 equaled USD7.1 billion (221.9 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,825.44 million.
The week's top sellers were Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD662.259 million followed by Sberbank ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD550.137 million and ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) with a turnover of USD208.374 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 35.63%, 29.60% and 11.21% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of PIK Group (PIKK) that went up by 25.37% to USD1.68, followed by ordinary shares of FESCO (FESH) – by 24.17% to USD0.3725 and ordinary shares of V.Bank (VZRZ) that went up by 21.55% to reach $22.
The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PJSC "Tyazhpromarmatura" (AZTP) that fell in price by 20.83% to reach USD380 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "TGC-2" (TGKB) – by 8.7% to USD0.00021 and ordinary shares of "FGC UES", JSC (FEES) – by 7.19% to USD0.0071.
