Over the week of July 20 – July 24, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 9.47% to reach 1,012.62 points (925.23 points as of July 17, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the rising prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (plus 14.02 points), Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 13.28 points) and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (plus 12.77 points).
The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase closing at 865.65 points (6.55% up against 812.47 points as of July 17, 2009). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest growth was demonstrated by oil & gas sector with the RTS Index – Oil & Gas going up by 9.92%. Significant increase was registered in the metals & mining and power sectors with the corresponding indices gaining 9.35% and 8.75% accordingly. The slightest growth was reported by the consumer & retail sector with the RTS Index - Consumer & Retail climbing 5.99%.

For the last week the US dollar dropped 1.92% against the RF rouble to reach 31.08 roubles per US dollar (31.69 as of July 17, 2009).
The total trading volume on RTS for the week July 20 – July 24, 2009 equaled USD6.5 billion (202.1 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,715.57 million.
The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD594.362 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD587.439 million and ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) with a turnover of USD202.221 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 33.78%, 33.39% and 11.49% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of RBC Information Systems (RBCI) that went up by 53.33% to USD1.15, followed by ordinary shares of JSC Acron (AKRN) – by 25.00% to USD25 and ordinary shares of OAO Raspadskaya (RASP) that went up by 23.76% to reach $2.5.
The week's top losers were ordinary shares of WBD Foods (WBDF) that fell in price by 2.27% to reach USD32.25.
