RTS Stock Market Weekly Trading Results: April 6 – April 10, 2009

Over the week of April 6 – April 10, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 9.57% to reach 817.41 points (746.03 points as of April 3, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (plus 21.33 points), Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (plus 11.70 points) and Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 6.47 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 went up by 5.42% to reach 568.62 points (539.40 points as of April 3, 2009). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest growth was demonstrated by the consumer & retail sector, with the corresponding index increasing by 14.53%. Significant increase was registered in the oil & gas sector, with the corresponding index gaining 9.68%. The slightest growth was shown by the industrial sector. The RTSI – Industrial went up by 5.27%.

Over the last week the US dollar lost 0.68% against the RF rouble to 33.53 roubles per US dollar (33.76 as of April 3, 2009).

The total trading volume on RTS for the week April 6 – April 10, 2009 equaled 1.8 billion dollars (60.3 billion roubles*), including all types of trades.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of $5.080 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of $3.161 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of $2.611 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 19.23%, 11.96% and 9.88% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of JSC "OGK-4" (OGKD) that rose in price by 100.0% to $0.025 followed by ordinary shares of "Company "M.video" (MVID) – by 75.0% to $1.75 and ordinary shares of SOLLERS OJSC (SVAV) – by 43.59% to $5.6.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of TMK (TRMK) that fell in price by 10.71% to reach $1.25 followed by ordinary shares of JSC Acron (AKRN) that lost 4.48% to close at $16.0 and ordinary shares of OJSC "VolgaTelecom" (NNSI) that went down by 3.31% to $0.73.
