The RTS Index is Russian securities market benchmark indicator first calculated on September 1995 based on the prices of Russian "blue-chip" companies. Index initial value was set equal to 100 points: its all-time high reached on October 6th, 1997, equaled 571,66. All-time minimum was registered on October 2nd, 1998 - 37,74.
The Index is calculated every thirty minutes during the session based on "blue-chip" stock trading data. Index value, updated in real-time mode, is published on the RTS Web-site, broadcasted to workstations and distributed by information agencies.
