As of today, the product quotations of the Mercado a Término de Rosario will be contributed via FIX, the leading communication standard of the world financial industry.
By using its contribution platform based on the FIX Standard (Financial Information eXchange), ROFEX connects efficiently and automatically to its information vendors, Bloomberg and CMA, enabling a wide range of possibilities as regards quotation access and use by its brokers and end clients.
The use of this platform, which improves contribution to data vendors, enables, among other things, access to the Market’s real-time trading data. Thus, it allows transferring a greater volume of information, in a fast and simple manner, adding value to all ROFEX´s brokers and generating more interest in international brokers.
“The fact that CMA and Bloomberg have access to our real-time trading data represents a quality jump, not only because ROFEX´s on line trading data is shown but also because of the significant weight it has in the market and technological capacity”, stated Diego Fernández, ROFEX´s General Manager.
It is the first time that data vendors use the FIX platform (launched by ROFEX in July 2007) to obtain market data automatically. “We’ve worked hard to lead the implementation of this standard in the region, which will facilitate the integration of all market players”, pointed out Sebastián Ferro, ROFEX´s Systems manager.
Thus, the first stage of a larger project is ended, which includes, as a next step, the routing of orders from clients to ROFEX directly from the data vendors´ terminals.
In this sense, Ismael Caram, ROFEX´s Operations manager, assured that “ROFEX leads in Argentina the world market trend by integrating business networks and platforms, a necessary catalyst to increase the number of participants and liquidity”.
