Rofex: More Than 2 Million Contracts Negotiated In January

Rofex reached an important trading level in its financial and agricultural divisions, resulting in the January of highest inter-annual growth in its history.

Rofex ends its first month of the year with a volume of operations that rose to 2,317,244 contracts in both divisions.

In regards to monthly operations in its agricultural division, with 23,376 contracts, Rofex showed a 356% growth compared to January 2007.

During the period examined, and speaking of financial futures, Rofex also registered a remarkable increase in its trading level, 32.8% higher than in January 2007.

The great influence Euro futures contract trading had this month should be underlined. It was interesting to observe that on January 30, its closest position surpassed in volume that of identical expiration date of the Dollar contract.

These figures reflect how the Exchange’s operations are affected by the main role the European currency is acquiring in the world’s economy.
