Robert Priestley Appointed To THE ASX Board

The Board of ASX Limited (ASX) announces the appointment of Rob Priestley as a non-executive directoreffective today. Mr Priestley will stand for election at ASX’s Annual General Meeting on 26 September 2017.

At ASX’s 2016 AGM, ASX Chairman Rick Holliday-Smith foreshadowed that the Board would appoint anadditional non-executive director following the appointment of Dominic Stevens as ASX’s CEO.

Mr Holliday-Smith said: “The Board and I are delighted that Rob has agreed to join the ASX Board. He has over30 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has worked in capital markets around the world. As a former CEO he has strong leadership, strategy and governance skills, and his international and local experience will bring valuable insights into the needs and concerns of the financial institutions that are ASX’s customers.”

Mr Priestley was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan Australia & New Zealand, and a member ofthe bank’s Asia Pacific Management Committee, roles he held for 15 years. J.P. Morgan recently announced MrPriestley as Non-Executive Chairman of J.P. Morgan Australia & New Zealand after he retired as CEO and fromhis executive responsibilities. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. for 23 years, including as CEO of the ASEAN Region, Head of Global Emerging Markets and Head of International FixedIncome for Europe, Middle East and Africa Region (based in London), and Head of International Fixed Income,Asia Pacific Region (based in Hong Kong).

Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr Priestley held senior financial markets roles, including at Macquarie Bank after starting his career at Price Waterhouse. He has been a director and Chairman of the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), and a member of the Business Council of Australia and the Australian Business andCommunity Network. He is a director of the Banking and Finance Oath and a member of the Tennis NSWCorporate Advisory Board. He is a Chartered Accountant and commerce graduate of the University ofMelbourne.
