Risk Capital In Canada - Breaking Down Barriers, Increasing Access

On November 7, the Canadian Foundation for Investor Education (CFIE), in association with the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Commerce, hosted a symposium, entitled 'Risk Capital in Canada: Breaking Down Barriers, Increasing Access.'

More than 100 delegates attended the event and heard a series of presentations and panel discussions ranging from the overall risk capital environment in Canada to identifying the major barriers to growth for emerging companies.

Among the presenters were: Daniel F. Muzyka, Dean of Commerce, UBC, Dr. William D. Bygrave, Professor for Free Enterprise, Babson College, Samuel L. Duboc, President and Managing Partner, EdgeStone Capital Partners and Linda Hohol, President, TSX Venture Exchange.
