Review Of Stockholmsbörsen's Attract40 Prior To The Second Half Of 2001

Date 18/06/2001

On July 3 last year Stockholmsbörsen introduced the Attract 40 sector into the exchange's 0-list. Attract40 includes those O-list companies with the highest rate of turnover. This choice of criteria also gives somewhat smaller companies a chance of exposure.

During the second half of this year 46 companies will be included in the Attract40 sector, of which eleven are new additions. Prior to the end of each half-year period the sector content will be changed thereby reflecting those companies that have been of interest during the preceding six months. For example, in the lead up to the coming six months the weightings of IT and Healthcare companies have been reduced In favour of finance companies (including real estate companies).

We introduced Attract40 as a means of providing foreign investors and Swedish share savers with the opportunity to find interesting growth companies quickly and easily. It is now clear that we have created the dynamism within this sector that we set out to achieve, explains Simon Nathanson, acting President of Stockholmsbörsen.

The new companies in Attract40 are Drott AB, Kungsieden AB, LGP Telecom Holding AB, Lundin Oil AB, New Wave Group AB, Observer AB, ORC Software AB, Ratos AB, ReadSoft AB, Tornet Fastighets AB and Viking Telecom AB.
