Today Reuters, the world’s largest international multimedia news provider, announced its availability on the Apple News app, available on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 9. Reuters coverage across business, technology, politics, world news and the top news of the day – which draws upon Reuters extraordinary reach of 2,500 journalists in nearly 200 locations – will be available on the News app.
The launch on Apple News follows the successful launch of the Reuters TV app, which offers curated and personalized video news coverage that is available on demand, and the award-winning Reuters news app. With an eye on the increasing importance of mobile platforms, Reuters on Apple News offers users access to trusted and in-depth coverage of the news and events that shape the world.
“We believe Apple News will provide a rich new way for users to learn about the world around them and Reuters is committed to being the informing voice on the news that matters most to readers,” Bill Riordan, Reuters.com publisher, said. “We see this partnership as an excellent opportunity to further our commitment to mobile. Reuters has released a number of products for mobile devices, including Reuters TV and a new mobile-first website, and will have more to share in the weeks and months that follow.”
