Government of India and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) have come out with regulations, allowing creation of SME platforms to trade on recognized stock exchanges. The objective behind launching a dedicated SME Platform on BSE Ltd. is to help the SME Companies to unlock their wealth in medium to long term and to create wealth for various stake holders.
In order to give further credibility and visibility to listed SMEs and also provide valuable professional research reports to Investors on BAE SME platform, BSE has begun to provide research reports on these companies from independent research agencies.
SEBI has already mandated Exchanges to provide research reports on small stocks to investors on their website.
The main objective of coming out with research report are as follows:
• It will considerably improve the information availability as well as raise the credibility of the companies.
• The research report will focus and bring out the strength of the listed SMEs, which will be the foundation for their growth.
• To provide a good quality of research coverage to the investors for their benefit.
• This initiative will motivate many other SME companies to look for alternate source of funds from the capital
markets and understand the importance of listing on SME Platform of BSE Ltd.
This initiative from BSE Ltd. is to create and disseminate company-specific research report focused on small and mid-cap companies, which do not have any research coverage.
Presently research report are available for two companies viz 1. Sangam Advisors Ltd 2. Jupiter Info media Ltd.
BSE plans to start providing research coverage within 4 to 8 weeks of the SME company getting listed on BSE. Subsequently, the periodic updates and revised research reports on the companies covered under the program will also be provided on BSE website.
