FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

Removal Of Alitalia From The S&P/MIB Index

Date 26/03/2008

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/MIB Index, effective using closing prices, after the close of trading on Friday 28 March 2008:
  • Geox (Italy, ISIN: IT0003697080) will replace Alitalia (Italy, ISIN: IT0003918577), in the S&P/MIB Index. The number of shares outstanding will be 258,844,000 and the pre-capped Investable Weight Factor will be 0.290. Following the application of the Capping Factor, the Capped IWF used in the index calculation will be 0.307966

The S&P/MIB index committee has made the decision to replace Alitalia following its recent extreme price volatility and sharp decline in the adjusted market capitalisation.

NOTE: The adjustment to the Index will be made using closing auction prices on Friday 28 March. Should no closing auction price be available for some Index constituents, the reference price (as published by the Borsa Italiana) will be used.

There will not be a review of the capping factors used in the index.
