Record Turnover At Euronext Amsterdam's Derivatives Market

Euronext Amsterdam Derivative Markets N.V. broke its all-time turnover record today, trading over 775,000 option and futures contracts during the October expiration. This broke the previous turnover record of over 695,000 contracts, set during the October 2000 expiration.

The major expirations in January, April, July and October are traditionally very busy times.

Euronext is the largest exchange in Europe for Stock options and Index options in terms of number of contracts. In the first 9 months of this year 161.2 million Stock option contracts and 81.6 million Index option contracts were traded on the Derivative Markets of Euronext.
