Record Trading Day For Euronext.liffe Commodity Products

Euronext.liffe’s Commodity Products traded 155,354 contracts on Thursday 4 November breaking the previous record of 82,714 contracts set on 30 June 2004.

Euronext.liffe’s Cocoa futures contract set a new traded volume record of 107,038 contracts, almost double the previous highest volume of 59,172 contracts set on 7 March 2002.

Cocoa Options also had a record trading day, recording a volume of 33,410 contracts thereby eclipsing the previous record of 9,125 contracts set on 7 October 2002.

The Commodity Products portfolio also set a new futures open interest record as of the close of business 3 November, with total open positions standing at over 450,215 contracts.

Euronext.liffe lists a broad range of Commodity Products which include Cocoa, Robusta Coffee, White Sugar, Feed Wheat, Milling Wheat, Rapeseed, Corn & Potatoes.

The products are actively traded by a diverse range of participants, including producers, exporters, trade-houses, processors and manufacturers as well as by managed funds and both institutional and short-term investors.
