The FTSE MV Exchanges Index, which is designed to represent the performance of global quoted stock exchanges, posted highs following news that the Chicago Mercantile Exchange agreed to buy the Chicago Board of Trade for USD8 billion, creating the largest global futures exchange.
The FTSE MV Exchanges Index hit consecutive record highs from 17 to 23 October following the acquisition, with the index closing at 24848.82 points on 23 October. Year to date, the index is up 65.8% with the index gaining 445.3% over the last five years.
