U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin met with Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Japan.
During their meeting, Secretary Mnuchin and Deputy Prime Minister Aso underscored the importance of the U.S.-Japan relationship and the need to work closely and constructively to foster strong growth in the global economy. The Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister discussed the latest developments in the U.S. and Japanese economies.
The Secretary also discussed North Korea and the importance of continuing the strong partnership between the United States and Japan on sanctions and illicit finance issues.
