FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

Rand Financial Services, Inc. Connects Directly To Sydney Futures Exchange

Date 21/03/2003

Today Rand Financial became the latest futures brokerage firm to provide clients with direct electronic access to Sydney Futures Exchange.

Rand clients can now trade and manage activity from anywhere in the world via the RandConnectÒ state-of-the-art electronic trading system providing Rand clients with easy access to the second largest financial futures exchange in the Asia-Pacific.

"Due to the liquidity of its products and its attractive time zone, Sydney Futures Exchange is increasingly in demand by our Hedge Fund and CTA clients," said Dennis Zarr, Rand's Senior Vice President of Business Development. "By providing access to SFE via the RandConnectÒ platform we will significantly expand the range of trading opportunities for our clients in terms of products, markets and trading hours."

The addition of Rand Financial to the Sydney Futures Exchange's electronic network is an important part of the exchange's growth strategy into the US and European markets. A total of nineteen of the largest FCM's in these regions are now directly connected to the SFE, and via them, a growing number of their customers. Record volumes are regularly being experienced from these hubs each month. Sydney Futures Exchange was ranked 10th largest Financial Futures Exchange in the world in 2002 and the 3-Year Australian Treasury Bond Futures contract is ranked among the top ten debt market futures contracts in the world by turnover.

"We are very pleased with the growing association between Rand and SFE," said Peter Hiom, General Manager of Business Development at Sydney Futures Exchange. "Rand's commitment to their customers is illustrated by the range of services they offer and state-of-the-art technological solution they provide. We look forward to being represented in that offering and providing new opportunities to Rand's customers."

Sydney Futures Exchange has started 2003 very encouragingly with record trading volumes in January and February up 15% over the same period in 2002.
