New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) has launched a new index to recognise and promote the breadth of science and technology companies currently listed in New Zealand.
On its first day of broadcast, the NZX SciTech Index has been propelled up to an intra-day high of 1331, 4.6% up from its opening value of 1272 this morning. Rakon Limited (RAK) and Fisher and Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited (FPH) are the two stocks that have pushed the index up today.

The NZX SciTech Index is unique among the NZX Equity Indices in that it will allow new listings such as Rakon to be included from their first day of trading. New listings are added to the other NZX Equity Indices only at end-of-month Index Updates.
