Cairn Energy goes into the FTSE 100 Index replacing Bradford and Bingley which moves to the FTSE 250 Index. Three further companies will join the FTSE 250 index and they are all newly eligible companies: Halfords, Premier Foods and Virgin Mobile Holdings. The three companies moving from the FTSE 250 index to the FTSE Small Cap index are Vardy (Reg), Eurotunnel and Xansa.
The FTSE AIM Index that measures the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market was also reviewed today and 100 companies have been added to the index.
