Date 23/03/2017

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE), in cooperation with Qatar University, held an educational day at the College of Business and Economics. The event, which included a simulation trading model, is committed to raising students' awareness on QSE’s role in the national economy and developing an active investment culture by giving the students a chance to develop their investment ideas, create mock stock portfolios, and undertake other projects associated with trading at Qatar Stock Exchange.

Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, expressed his satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between QSE and Qatar University and stated that this successful training session is a translation of MoU signed between the two parties. He added that the QSE is actively participating in nation-building activities in its capacity as a well-established and prestigious national institution in the State of Qatar.

“In line with the human, economic and social pillars of QNV 2030, QSE is keen to cooperate with the local activities and contribute to such development activities and training programs designed to help the link between educational output and the professional life,” Al-Mansoori added.

It is necessary to empower our youth and students representing the engine for successful entrepreneurship and economic prosperity in the future. Various efforts, initiatives and programs are focusing on youth empowerment, education, training, and capacity-building.  QSE aims to effectively contribute to these efforts as part of its social responsibility and keenness to link the economic, educational and human dimensions of sustainable development, Al-Mansoori concluded.
Dean. Dr. Khalid Shams Al-Abdulqader, Dean of College of Business & Economics, thanked QSE for its supportive educational programs, especially in the fields of research and training, and praised its role in economic diversification and local development.

QSE’s support of and contribution to educational, training and awareness activities are part of its social responsibility in supporting all segments of the local community, in line with QNV 2030 focusing on the human and economic development.  Based on this responsibility, QSE frequently participates in student activities combining practical and theoretical learning. By engaging in real world events and challenging students to grapple with the same opportunities and risks that are present in a real trading environment, they learn about their world through a hands-on approach, while also serving as leaders in their communities.

As part of its social responsibility activities, Qatar Stock Exchange signed cooperation agreements with several Qatari educational institutions such as the Faculty of Islamic Studies of HBK University, Carnegie Mellon University, and Qatar University in order to promote investment awareness among various segments of the society. These agreements resulted in various education and training initiatives and programs that targeted university students as well as various segments of citizens and residents.
