Qatar Stock Exchange And Carnegie Mellon Qatar Sign Memorandum Of Understanding Cooperation In The Fields Of Education, Training And Specialized Conferences

Qatar Stock Exchange and CarnegieMellon University in Qatar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) topromote future collaborations between the two organizations.

The MoU was signed by Qatar StockExchange’s CEO, Rashid Bin Ali Al Mansouri, and Ilker Baybars, Dean of CarnegieMellon Qatar. The two parties have pledged to work together to collaborate inthe fields of education, scientific research and community development.

The MoU boosts collaborationbetween the two organizations in the fields of scientific research,scholarships and professional training to Carnegie Mellon Qatar students, andexecutive education to Qatar Stock Exchange staff promoting the exchange ofprofessional and scientific expertise in the fields of computer science,business administration, information systems and public policy.

In addition, the MoU outlines thebenefits of hosting joint conferences, seminars and specialized workshops toencourage students to volunteer in Qatar stock Exchange initiatives and servethe local community.

Carnegie Mellon Qatar, under thememorandum, will provide consultancy and hold seminars and training courses.

Al-Mansoori welcomed the signing ofthe agreement as a basis for close cooperation with Carnegie Mellon Qatar, inorder to supplement the stock market with the university’s talent pool. Theagreement will also see the training of Qatar Stock Exchange personnel throughprograms that enhance professional, scientific, and investment awareness amongthe financial community in Qatar.

Al-Mansoori said: “This agreementcomes within the framework of the role played by Qatar Stock Exchange inachieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and the commitment of Qatar Stock Exchangeto continue what this vision is built upon starting from Qatari principles ofopenness to modernity, adopting new technologies to serve the goals ofdevelopment and economic progress, and emphasizing the role of Qatar StockExchange in serving the local, regional and global community”.

Al-Mansoori pointed out that thiscooperation is a continuation and culmination of education and awarenessefforts undertaken by QE in the local community.

Baybarssaid: “Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is very pleased to partner withQatar Stock Exchange during this period of exceptional growth and diversificationof Qatar’s economy, and we look forward to our future collaborations ineducation and research.”

Baybarsadded: “Carnegie Mellon University’s mission and vision in Qatar supports QatarNational Vision 2030, with a particular focus on the human development pillar,which aims to educate the next generation of leaders and build a prosperoussociety.”

This is thethird MoU signed by Qatar Stock Exchange with a national educationalinstitution, as they signed similar memorandums of understanding with QatarFinance and Business Academy, and College of Islamic Studies at Hamad binKhalifa University.
