In collaboration with Teamwork International, a leading provider of specialized training services, Qatar Stock Exchange concluded an integrated training program on leadership development and strategic planning. The training, which conformed with the highest international standards in the development of executive leaders, targeted QE directors and department heads in line with the strategy of the exchange to develop the capabilities and skills of its employees.
The program included intense theoretical and practical sessions and the participating candidates received an accredited certificate at the conclusion of the year-long training program.
During the closing ceremony, Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori , CEO of Qatar Exchange, expressed his delight at realizing the objectives of the program, which will contribute in developing the corporate performance of the stock exchange and stated: "We are trying to continue the efforts toward achieving progress and growth , putting the future in mind , and relying on a set of pillars based on the best practices in the global capital markets , with a focus on sustainable growth. From this perspective , we harness all our capabilities to support and develop our human resources in light of our commitment to our customers , shareholders and the Qatari economy . "
Mr. Al-Mansoori highlighted that: "To proceed with any intensive training program, which is part is part of QE strategy to develop employee skills and improve the services provided to investor community, we have contracted with reputable training institutions to achieve the optimal investment in human capital."
"What distinguishes the stock market at this stage is its interest in development, training and awareness campaigns targeting investors and all segments of society on the one hand and the staff and department leaders of the stock exchange on the other. Thus, this training course aimed to enable the department directors to master the skills required to develop teamwork and administrative proficiency. The interactive method used by trainers in the session was distinct, because the training was focused on giving the trainee the tools necessary to change concepts and enhance communication with others, " Mr. Al-Mansoori added
For his part, Dr. Tom Flatau , the Managing Director and principal trainer from Teamwork International Inc, stated that the focus during this session was on the development of leadership and management skills for department managers in the stock market, stressing that those skills will play an important role in ensuring the success of the company through effective implementation of strategies and future plans.
The key to successfully managing change begins with having effective leaders who are able to take the organization forward in a rapidly changing world. The aim of the training course was to equip participating managers with the knowledge and skills of effective management and leadership in order to strengthen their capabilities and provide them with the ability to deal with all cases which require effective leadership. The ultimate aim of this training program was to form an executive team with a common vision capable of contributing to the development of the stock exchange and to provide best practice guidance." Mr. Tom added.
During the lectures, Dr. Tom Flatau dealt with various topics including an evaluation of the organization’s leadership, effective management and leadership skills, leadership and training strategies, effective communication and negotiation skills, conflict resolution and personnel evaluation and innovation, problem solving, decision-making and building high performance teams.
