The latest quarterly figures illustrate mixed results for primary and secondary equity markets, quarterly increases in derivatives trading, and overall positive performance of other asset classes, such as bonds and securitised derivatives.

Equity trading increased in Q1 2023 for FESE Members and more generally in Europe, halting the continuous declines since Q1 2022.

The number of new listings and IPOs this quarter registers the lowest values since Q1 2020.

Overall derivatives trading grew compared to the previous quarter, but year-on-year values offer a disparate picture.

Bond trading continues to rise and surpasses the records of this quarter last year.

ETFs trading increased compared to Q4 2022 but still remains below the record high of Q1 2022.
