Swiss & Global Asset Management (Swiss & Global) is the exclusive manager of Julius Baer Funds and one of the major asset managers in Europe. Since the beginning of 2010, Swiss & Global has been using the reporting solution Publisher Suite 3.0 from Princeton Financial® Systems (PFS). The solution enables Swiss & Global to produce and distribute more than 750 factsheets in seven languages, and ten complex booklets with 40-80 pages each. The latter have a sophisticated structure and contain not only covers and separator sheets, which vary by document, but also further dynamic elements such as an automatically-generated index, different graphic types, and footnotes varying by context.
Before Swiss & Global opted for the Publisher Suite, a self-developed solution supported their fund reporting. However, they had to utilize an external service provider each time they needed a new report or a modification in an existing one. The Publisher Suite makes them much more independent. Thanks to its modular setup and integrated scripting language, users can design reports easily and flexibly according to their needs and also define exceptions from the standard. For example, when a user hides context-dependent components of the report, dependencies such as corresponding footnotes will automatically be taken into consideration and be hidden. Also, the funds which are to be used for report generation are selected automatically.
Altogether, the Publisher Suite reduces the administrative burden in fund reporting, thus saving Swiss & Global a great deal of time. Furthermore, the new solution offers more output formats: besides the PDF format, it will, in the future, also allow CSV and PPT. This way, the financial institution can directly export, for example, the development of a fund’s assets under management to Excel.
Swiss & Global is very satisfied with the solutions and consulting services of PFS. The Publisher Suite came with a host of important functionalities as standard which were important to the company. At the same time, it was flexible enough to adapt to the company’s precise individual needs. Furthermore, Swiss & Global has successfully been using two additional PFS solutions for many years: MIG21 automates the investment compliance, and the DVS Fund Warehouse serves as a central platform which works perfectly together with the Publisher Suite.
